What an incredible blessing and encouragement we receive from our brothers and sisters in Christ that sacrifice daily for the winning of souls in their spheres of influence in central Africa. In the community we are living in we are suffering through the flood damage, including homes that have been destroyed and families displaced in our communities. Even among those that are in the midst of these worldly troubles, our faithful believers are compelled by the Holy Spirit to stay true to Jesus as their first love and share in His mission to "seek and save those that are lost". As we read the testimonies and see the photos of outreaches, locally, in Mexico and in central Africa, we understand in a deeper way what Paul meant when he said: "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a cloud of witnesses let us throw off the sin that entangles us and let us run the race...."Their example of sacrificial love to reach even one more sheep gives us that "cloud".   Their examples of love and service are essential to the strengthening of our faith as we pray and allow the Holy Spirit to accept these trials and afflictions as pure joy. We are able to keep the saving of souls as our primary mission through sharing the love of Jesus through our own trials and afflictions just like the light we see in our Africa co-laborer’s testimonies and the joy we find in every soul that is swept into our loving Father's waiting arms. We thank God with every heartbeat and every breath that we don't see them just as brothers and sisters in Christ or fellow servants of the Lord or co-laborers, but friends. "A friend loves forever and a brother is born for adversity."

I woke up early on Christmas morning knowing that because Jesus left heaven and came into this world to live and be tempted, betrayed and crucified none of us or the 807 souls that came to Jesus in November would have the eternal life that Jesus came to give us.   May we never forget that without His descending (leaving heaven to become a baby like us), there would have been no life, death, forgiveness of sin or ascension and the eternity He promised us.
