What a blessing to be with our family for the Celebration of Life for our son-in-law, Jack, who along with his wife and our daughter, Christy, helped so many people by opening their home and most of all their hearts and family to accept people, just as they were, in their hour of need. For many, that hour, which gave them - the face they could see and the hand they could touch - extended into their lives with love, acceptance, joy and purpose gave them a family.

We all came and left knowing that we were a part of something greater than ourselves. Two days after, while visiting with our granddaughter that lives in Marysville and our grandson that came from Missouri and her family, I met two young girls I had never met. Within a short time, our great-grandchildren had all of us playing the M&M game that we use in our Harvest Kids ministry. And outside, a few feet away, is a collection can for aluminum cans that will be recycled and that money will be sent 10,000 miles away to help orphans in Africa. Being a part of something greater than yourself is God's gift to each of us that humbly accept the love and forgiveness that Jesus offers to everyone that believes. An M&M, after it is eaten, or a soda after it is drank, don't make a lot of difference, but when that M&M and empty can is put in the Hands of the Master, He can change the world for someone.

Little things with great love.
