Jesus said: “Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” (John 4:34)
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest fields. (Matthew 9:37-38)
What a blessing to know that because of our faithful co-laborers that pray and provide the support for the believers in the different countries in central Africa, over 850 new believers were swept into the arms of our Father in heaven in July and are now being discipled in the existing and new church families that are being planted in their communities.
We were blessed to join in the Back to School Blessings at the Skagit Valley College and Lyman Baptist church family. Over 30 community outreach groups joined together at the college to hand out backpacks and school supplies, watch the dance of local groups and be blessed by hearing the Lord Jesus being lifted up in praise and worship. Hot dogs, haircuts, clothing, fun and games and during all of this, Child’s Evangelism Fellowship shared the gospel with hundreds and 57 children accepted the free gift of eternal life and can now share the good news with family, friends and their fellow students and teachers. The Lyman church family provided 150 backpacks and school supplies to upriver students while everyone enjoyed the fellowship of one another with food, popcorn, snowcones and the bouncy house. A wonderful day of people making new friends.
The Harvest Kids had enough donations to send the money for 11 bunkbeds and 22 mattresses for 22 orphan boys that slept on the floor of their primary school in eastern Uganda and now the kids are starting on work to build a new children’s church in another location. Thanks to our local helpers we were also able to send the money to purchase phones for pastors spread our in different communities in Uganda.
And locally, produce is available to help those in need and teams are moving out to help people in their homes, gardens and helping with other basic needs all in the name of Jesus and for the glory of God. Breaking down barriers and setting people free by allowing ourselves to become the Body of Christ and sharing our faith and lives with other Christ-like believers where if, “One suffers, we all suffer and if one is honored, we all rejoice.”
