Last night, I was compelled to watch the Celebration of Life videos of our son, Shane Henson, and our granddaughter, Kylee Walker. Lot’s of tears that couldn’t be held back. This month will be one year since Kylee was transferred to her knew residence with our Father in heaven to continue her work in the Body of Christ. This is also the month that Shane, and Christy (Keira and Kylee’s mother) were born and when I will celebrate the 78 years that the Lord has given for me to minister here in this world. After I composed myself enough I went to bed and began to pray and these words kept repeating themselves in my mind: “She is right here with me.” It troubled me because I knew I had heard them before. We watch Christian movies on Thursday nights so my mind was stuck on trying to remember what movie it was.
When I got out of bed at 4:30 and went in and turned the light on in the bathroom. The room was brighter than I can remember, and my eyes, which usually take a while to get unfogged were crystal clear and I heard those words and saw who had spoken them. It was the video of Kylee when she returned to Africa to open Madilyn’s House for the orphan girls. In February 2013, the Lord prompted Madilyn, who was 4 ½ years old with a desire to build a home for orphan girls in Africa. We bought the land and Jonathan provided the photo and a profile of a young girl named Peace that was about Madilyn’s age which they used as a way to raise support for the work. In June, we traveled to see the progress and meet Peace. In November 2013, Kylee traveled by herself to open the home to the girls. The morning of the opening they made a video. After thanking everyone, Kylee said (holding back her tears): “This morning I talked to Madilyn on the phone and I told her this was beautiful. Then Madilyn said, ‘Mom, did you see Peace?’ Kylee said: “Yes, she is right here with me.” Before she left, she told Peace that she would be her mother and that Madilyn and Hailey would be her sisters.
Tuesday, we went to court and after a year long battle, Keira was awarded permanent guardianship of Clara, Kylee’s youngest daughter, and Madilyn and Hailey’s sister. That night for the first time, Clara went with Madilyn and Hailey to visit with the rest of their family in Moses Lake. That gives us four more great grandkids. That same time, we were contacted by our son Shane’s daughter, that we have never met and she wants to find out about her dad, who she has never met. She lives locally and has 5 daughters and 1 son. That would give us 6 more grandchildren. Up to that phone call, two of my three brothers has passed away, and after my son passed away there was no “man’ to carry on the family lineage.
Today, Isaac that I baptized when he was 14 and his mother, Harriett, that we have known over 20 years through his journey of addiction are leaving in his car for their first 3 day vacation together in Oregon. Nate, our brother in Christ, who has been with us the last few months had a severe seizure a few days ago that ended with him in the hospital being incubated through a 45 minute coma. He has been back helping us the last two days. Today at Harvest Kids we will be finishing the remainder of fundraising to purchase the 11 bunkbeds and 22 mattresses for the orphan boys that sleep on the floor of the Nalidi primary school in eastern Uganda and will be helped by some of our new young disciples. We will also be sending the money needed to purchase phones for 10 of the pastors that are shepherding church families in Uganda that don’t have their own phones. Today we finish the last day of our 4 week garage sale that has brought many new friends and brothers and sisters in Christ into our lives.
"Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you did not know." (Jeremiah 33:3)Jesus said, "What I put together, let no one separate."Hold fast to your dreams, because when dreams die, life becomes a broken-winged bird which can never fly."
And – don’t stop one second before the miracle happens!
