Earlier in the year, Ronaldo Plascencia and I were blessed to travel to Uganda, Africa and join a conference with the Harvest Vision coordinators from the different counties in central Africa. The coordinators receive apostolic over-sight from Martin who we have been in partnership for the last twenty years. We have also been blessed with the partnership of many other ministries from different parts of the USA and other nations in the world that we have enjoyed working with to share the love of Jesus through evangelism, teaching, discipleship, church planting and helping with basic needs, giving them training, support and resources that allow them to be free and self-supporting. That includes building churches, drilling wells, farming and economic projects, building schools and teaching on health and safety concerns.

One of the scriptures that prophesied the beginning of the ministry was: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” (Isaiah 60:1-3)

Ronaldo and I were blessed to stay at the Love Benti training camp in Mukono, Uganda and visit their home and office in Kampala during our visit. Some of our Harvest Vision family work with Love Benti on a regular basis and everyone is one family in our desire to glorify God. We have been blessed to meet some of them that work together with Martin including different parts of the USA, Germany, the Netherlands and Taiwan where Love Benti is from. This is a post from the director of Love Benti in Uganda.

“In Africa, most training courses are charged because that’s how the institution survives. But think of young people who really come from poor communities, they don't have to have three meals and can't afford training!     Our agriculture program, young people from all over East Africa, through the church, reach the lowest levels to find those who really need the opportunity most. They come here without paying tuition fees and living allowance instead. This allowance is not "free" but as a job, they are on the farm every day, learning hand-to-hand.    How to compost, how to restore strength to the soil, how to understand the growth of a plant, how to convert food into something that can really be eaten, these are all practical work. They don't just listen to classes, they do it every day, there are 200 kinds of rotational plants on the farm, we teach natural farming, we teach the most basic knowledge of plant soil, teach the use of limited resources, improve lives, and let the natural environment and farming system in the countryside be built up little by.    Trainees shared: "We used to understand why plants grow up, now we can grow food to feed ourselves. This confidence is the biggest change.    Our goal is to make everything possible, to keep the community out of hunger and to give the poorest the chance to turn around.” Isaac, Love Benti
