Many thanks to Carolyn who gathered the older kids that attend her Kid’s Club so we could pick them up for Harvest Kids.
Dale was able to use the famous “red van” to pick them up and all the kids really enjoy riding in it.
The kids played with the parachute, jumped rope and did a little tug of war even as they smashed the cans that so many of our faithful donors have dropped off during the week at the Harvest Home.
The kids were really blessed when our friend, Kelly, dropped by to deliver some cans and some special treats that his wife, Lisa, made for the kids to share. Lisa has been a champion for many of these kids since she came and stayed with us for a while a few years ago. They really look forward to seeing both of them more as we expand our outreach to young people in our community through the remainder of the summer months.
The kids collected another $55 from the change they have collected along with their other secret supporters that will be used to purchase mosquito nets for 25 orphaned girls that live at the Nalidi Grace Primary school in east Uganda. They only have $44 needed for the last 25 nets and then they will begin to collect the money for the nets for the 29 orphaned boys that also live at the school.
We are thankful for the special lunch that Grandma Linda provides.
Everyone was excited to see Lynn Griffin from Child’s Evangelism Fellowship back to share the gospel with everyone (including the adults).
The “Word Up” for the day was “God is faithful”.
The scripture that the kids were challenged to put on to the “tablet of their hearts” was Philippians 4:19.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Her interactive teaching includes songs, mission stories and personal applications into the everyday lives of the kids. Lot’s of fun and always the invitation for all of these young people and adults to open their hearts to receive Jesus Christ and make a renewed commitment to love. To serve Him by sharing the good news with others while helping meet their needs.
She is always faithful to leave the kids with some crafts and information that can help guide them through their days ahead.
We will be back together on the 4th Saturday, July 25th, from 10am-1pm.
