Many thanks to everyone that came to Harvest Kids and shared the love of Jesus with each
other and especially these young children that are being taught to be true disciples. Our friends from Child’s Evangelism Fellowship helped us start with a fun and interactive game, before Odette led us in our morning praise and worship. She always ask for some physical interaction which is about all the exercise some of us older Harvest Kids can handle. The teaching today was about our greatest Valentine and was centered around Jeremiah 31:3, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness.” It is a blessing to hear the questions the kids ask and to hear them participate in answering the questions they are asked. They also distributed some information on Christian Youth In Action which provides training for kids over 12 who are interested in spreading the good news of the gospel of Christ with children. This is a nine-day training camp in the summer.
After lunch, we were able to crush some of the cans that had been donated and then prepared to count the change donated to help finish the sealing and painting for the classrooms the kids built for the school in Africa. Because of a problem that could have closed the school (which opened this week), the $1,000 they had initially raised for the goal had to be spent to relocate the toilets at the school before the local authorities would let the school open for this term. We also shared that within 24 hours of finding that out, a local farmer donated two cows for the ministry and that would bring in about $1,000 to replace the amount previously sent. We now have $473, plus the donations from the cows, toward the $2,258 needed to finish the school. Praise God!
Thanks to our “older” Harvest Kids that help when we go out to visit the playground, sand pit, garden and petting zoo. They also got to meet Leonard and the men that are working on the new greenhouse. Many thanks to the boys that helped pick up the raspberry trimmings and take them out to the goat pen. We are looking forward to our next meeting on the 4th Saturday, Feb 25th. Remember you are welcome anytime in between to come and visit here at the Garden of Eden family ministry. You can also drop off cans and even crush them.
Cans can also be dropped off at Sheila Strock’s home at 203 Thompson Place in Sedro Woolley or at Blake & Kylee’s home at 9732 163rd Ave NE in Granite Falls. For information call 360-421-8811.
