In Our search for identity. “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
(Genesis) 1:27 “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
(Psalm 139:14) Together with Pastor John Light from South Sudan. John wears the scars on his forehead from the tribal ritual that validates your manhood and establishes your identity in the tribe. My body wears the tattoos from my desire to prove myself and establish my own self-centered identity. Then God saved us and brought us into His family. Our true destiny through Jesus Christ. “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him and nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.”
(Isaiah 53:2) “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” (Philippians 2:5-7) Scars and tattoos remind us where we come from – but they don’t have to dictate where we are going!
