“I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.” (Isa 45:7) “For it is time for judgement to begin with the family of God.” (2 Pt 4:17)
A single thread of truth weaves itself throughout this world that is crippled by the fear and anxiety that is encouraging everyone to think only of themselves.
Who is responsible? Who is really behind the plot? The government? The liberals? Satan?
Only the truth will set us free. It is never the fault of the darkness. If darkness increases it is always caused by the absence of the light.
Sorry Church. There is someone that is behind all this and it isn’t the fault of the people we have labeled the “bad guys”. The followers of the prince of darkness only have influence when there is less light and that is when the King’s army becomes distracted by themselves.
God’s Word shows that since the birth of humankind, every time His people put their needs above the things of God there is consequence. Disobedience requires repentance – meaning His people accepted the responsibility for what was taking place and repented.
Yes….that means we have fallen short and being fallen in a fallen world doesn’t change anything.
The false shepherds that have led many to believe that everything is alright as long as we gather together and take care of ourselves and enjoy the wonderful things that God has given to us can’t tell the sheep the truth because most of them have bought the lie. That for the sake of our own self-centeredness, we are justified because we all agree and it has rendered us powerless to a broken and dark world. Our lust after the things of the world and the satisfaction it has given our flesh, has made us apathetic and insensitive to the pain that God endures because of abortion, sexual immorality, lying, cheating and all other forms of selfishness. We have lulled ourselves into believing that what we want is just to be “alone” with God when that is the last thing we are really prepared for.
Now, we fellowship together with all kinds of regrets, but not to repent and lay down our lives and reach the lost, but to pray that God will fix everything and punish the bad guys.
There are some church families that gather and focus on God’s Word, pray and obey the Lord, except they don’t want to be guilty of exposing the false teaching of the church family that is not teaching truth. According to scripture, we do not fulfill the responsibility of the watchman that warns them and thereby we share the blood of their sin. We call it “not judging”, the world calls it “political correctness” and God calls it “disobedience”. (Ez 3:16-21)
Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.” (Jn 10:11-13) “Godly sorrow leads to repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regrets, but worldly sorrow brings death.” (2 Cor 7:10) “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘O city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood in her midst and defiles herself by making idols, you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed and have become defiled by the idols you have made.” (Ez 22:3-4) “Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. There were proud and did detestable things (child sacrifice & homosexuality) before Me. Therefore I did away with them as your have seen.” (Ez 16:49-50)
Even if we are faithless, God will be faithful.
We only need to “Repent, the kingdom of heaven is near!”
“Merciful Father, we come before You again as Your people knowing that we have abandoned our first love. We have become intoxicated with Your goodness to the point of clinging to the things You have given us and we have given in to the earthly satisfaction they have provided for us. Forgive us for our selfishness and only giving when other men will see it so they will draw the conclusion that we care about the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit at the same time making sure it doesn’t really require the true sacrifice of our time or possessions. We know that You have all authority on heaven and on earth, including that needed to fulfill Your command to deny ourselves, pick up our cross daily and follow You. We ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit that would clothe us in power and take away our fear of death so that we may overcome. We know that we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony so that we may not love our lives so much as to shrink from death. Jesus, we thank You for Your promise that He who overcomes will be dressed in white and You will never blot out our name from the book of life but will acknowledge our name before the Father and His angels. Help us to be broken from our selfishness and fear and become like You. Choosing above all things to please the Father by seeking to save those that are lost. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen.”
