USA – Harvest Kids, Jan 28, 2023

What a beautiful day the Lord blessed us with today. 12 older Harvest Kids (adults) came to pour themselves into the 16 younger Harvest Kids that were all together today. We were blessed to begin our morning crushing many of the cans that our partners in ministry have donated and will be recycled and that money used to help meet the needs of orphans scattered throughout Uganda. Afterwards we retreated into the warm fellowship center where we got to know each other and share the vision of the Harvest Doves primary school that the kids and their supporters are finishing now. We counted another $112 bringing us up to $1,300 toward our goal of the $2,250 to finish the sealer and paint for the last two classrooms. Then ,we joined together to sing praises to the Lord with interactive songs like “Father Abraham”, “The B-I-B-L-E” and “Our God is an Awesome God”.

After lunch, we shared about the ways in which we can share the love of Jesus to those in our community that live on the streets or their vehicles. We made up Jesus cards that were put in the “love” bags the kids put together with some items that might meet some of their needs. These will be available for anyone that wants to carry them in their vehicle and give to anyone they are prompted to meet on their daily travels. Always with prayers and a word of encouragement.

We also shared our vision of how we can respond to God’s Word in Revelation 5:9 talking about Jesus, “and with His Blood He purchased men (and women) for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” A number of years ago we were led to create a “Harvest Kids Coloring Book” about the ministry in the USA, Mexico and Africa. The coloring book has pictures of common objects, such as boy, tree or dog with the spelling in English, Spanish and Swahili. We will also be teaching the kids (old and young) how to spell their own names and the name of the object in ASL (American Sign Language) along with the sign for the object itself. In the past, we learned a song and it was sang in all three languages and now we will add ASL.

After we become believers and true disciples of Jesus Christ, we must teach other new believers to obey what Jesus has commanded us so scripture can be fulfilled.

“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom that have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:8-15)

We finished with visiting our friends; goats, alpacas, pigs and bunnies in the petting zoo and enjoying the sun at the playground. Out next regular Harvest Kids is the 2nd Saturday, Feb 11th at 11am with our friends from Child’s Evangelism Fellowship. You are also welcome to give us a call any time you would like to visit to ensure someone is here and available!
