Notes from Augustine, DRCongo coordinator: “Let us pray for us the rebels are at the gates of the city of Goma.  The insecurity is serious.  The children have just returned from school due to the aggression. Our lives are in danger let us pray for the protection of our families. Today is a very serious day. Look at the current situation here. We are in great sadness about this war which makes us go backwards every day. We lead a life of misery because of all that. But we believe in the deliverance of our country the Congo.”

(Received Sunday morning, the DRC is 10 hours ahead of PST)“Hello dear servants of God. Today we have just spent a painful day. Since the morning there were detonations of heavy and light weapons. We did not participate in the worship of this Sunday, January 26, 2025. The rebels came from Rwanda by crossing the border openly. They caused great panic and deaths here and there. We locked ourselves in our houses and the children are traumatized because of the detonations of the bombs. Others have fallen ill and we do not know what to do now. Pray for us because we do not know what will happen tomorrow. Others are leaving the city with their families today. We ask for prayer support.”

We were blessed to send the $518 the Harvest Kids have been raising to purchase uniforms and netballs for a group of young evangelists that are preparing a team to travel throughout their region using this as an evangelistic tool to draw the young people to come and here about Jesus Christ. Prior to this, they raised the funds for uniforms and soccer balls for another team. Both of these teams will be working in an area north of Kampala, the capital of Uganda in the Kaliro District.

Many thanks to the saints that are making themselves available to help meet the needs of those in our community with construction and mechanical problems that do not have the skills or the money for costly maintenance and repair. We are also preparing a lawn and garden trailer that will be available to provide help for those in need. We are currently setting up a hydraulic lift to make it possible to do vehicle maintenance and mechanical repairs.
