“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Ph 1:3-6)
I pray that all of us that are true disciples of Jesus Christ and have been blessed by God to live in the USA recognize that even though we have our share of troubles, we are in a position to help our co-workers in countries that do not have the freedom or blessings God has entrusted to us. A few nights ago Pr. Martin, the director of Harvest Vision in central Africa, shared with us some needs that they have so they can continue to spread the gospel. They have purchased property and set up a building in Iganga, a large city of 500,000 with mostly Muslims and are preparing a team of 15 ministers to go for door-to-door and begin home fellowships. They are in need of 70 chairs ($350). Martin over-sees 12 coordinators in 5 different countries and also has 19 branch churches in Uganda that has a population of 40 million. These 19 have incredible spheres of influence with pastor’s and church families in their areas. The Lord has prompted Martin to provide smartphones for those that don’t have them to begin training sessions they will be sharing with other leaders. They are needing 10 phones ($1,000). He has also been led to set up a training seminar in mid-December that requires them to travel and stay in Kampala for a few days and asked if we could help with travel and accommodations ($720). The Kibuli fellowship in the Muslim slums of Kampala will provide the food. We also are supporting other work in central Africa, Mexico and El Salvador. We appreciate those that pray and support our Christian co-laborers and would ask each of you to consider whether the Lord is prompting you to be a partner to support the expanding of the kingdom in these areas. If you are already partnering with them, please consider asking your fellow believers if they may like to join with them.
