USA – Look to the fields. They are ripe for harvest, May 17, 2012

If you have been following the posts regarding the primary school that was started in Kayunga, Uganda you know that the old church building was refurbished to allow the school to start this year on the condition that a permanent building would be built before the end of the year. The property was purchased for the new building, Textbooks were bought by the Harvest Kids from the USA and 80 students are enrolled and teachers available. 25 students are Christian, 35 Muslims and 20 unconfirmed. We are excited about this door that God has opened for us. Unexpectedly, the District Education Officer, under some pressure, visited and has changed the agreement and demanded that construction begins within four weeks or they would shut down the school. The budget for the 2 classrooms and office for 45 students in each class is $13,590: building $4,110, roof $3,900, doors and windows $1,780 and plaster $3,800. We were blessed to have sent the $4,110 for the building and pray that will satisfy their requirements. We were also able to make a road trip to visit the ministry in Curlew, Washington to provide food for them to give to those in need. Pr. John Seaman’s brother and family came and picked up some of the food to support the ministry they are doing in Colville and we were blessed to hear that all that foods along with the gospel message and prayers are being given out and we are praying that we will be able to continue to support the work in those places and others as the need arises. We are also in the final week of finishing the work to complete the Garden of Eden family ministry that will provide a safe, non-threatening environment for the Body of Christ to come together and use as they seek God’s will on how each one of us, individually and in our small church families, have called us to fellowship, pray and be the salt of the earth and light of the world that God has called us to be.
