Jesus plants a ‘seed’ of faith in each one that enters His rest.
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.” (Matthew 13:31-32) Jesus said: “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:18-21)
What types of birds are perched in your tree?
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth.” “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body what you will wear.” “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” “Deny yourself, pick up your cross daily and follow Me.” “Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” “They did not love their lives so much as too shrink from death.”
Satan plants a seed of fear in our self-centeredness.
It also has birds that come and perch in it.
“Store up for yourselves treasures on earth.”
“Worry about your life, what you will eat and drink and about your body what you will wear.”
“The world is falling apart and I am worried about my family, health, money, possessions.”
“Deny yourself nothing.”
“Take care of yourself.”
“At all costs, make sure that you don’t die.”

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is not longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16)
