A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

Africa – About midnight, July 24, 2020

After going to bed, as is our usual custom, Linda and I read a chapter out of Matthew and the Psalms, then prayed and went to sleep.

Africa – Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision, July 14, 2020

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near in the va
lley of decision.”

(Joel 3:14)

We were blessed to receive the testimonies of our co-laborers that are reaching people in their nations even though each country is facing the confusion caused by their different lockdown scenarios. They are visiting and doing face to face (not Facebook) and seeing many coming to faith in Jesus Christ and many times it is entire families.

The church building in Kampala located in the mostly Muslim ghetto can’t meet in the building but are doing discipleship training for over 150 new believers in homes.  Pr. Martin is teaching pastors and leaders four times a week via internet from different Arabian countries and as far away as Afghanistan.

A team of 15 just returned from a 3-day outreach in Karonda in Burundi that witnessed 245 people accepting Jesus. Many were baptized and the local believers are now discipling them and bringing them into local fellowships. Burundi is now starting their traditional 2-month vacation from schools and have planned to visit 20 communes in 8 different provinces with a team of 50 youth during their “vacation”.

We covet your prayers and continued financial support for all the coordinators in these different countries, even as we seek new ways to reach and disciple new believers here in our own country.

USA – Harvest Kids with CEF, July 11, 2020

Many thanks to Carolyn who gathered the older kids that attend her Kid’s Club so we could pick them up for Harvest Kids.
Dale was able to use the famous “red van” to pick them up and all the kids really enjoy riding in it.
The kids played with the parachute, jumped rope and did a little tug of war even as they smashed the cans that so many of our faithful donors have dropped off during the week at the Harvest Home.
The kids were really blessed when our friend, Kelly, dropped by to deliver some cans and some special treats that his wife, Lisa, made for the kids to share. Lisa has been a champion for many of these kids since she came and stayed with us for a while a few years ago. They really look forward to seeing both of them more as we expand our outreach to young people in our community through the remainder of the summer months.
The kids collected another $55 from the change they have collected along with their other secret supporters that will be used to purchase mosquito nets for 25 orphaned girls that live at the Nalidi Grace Primary school in east Uganda. They only have $44 needed for the last 25 nets and then they will begin to collect the money for the nets for the 29 orphaned boys that also live at the school.
We are thankful for the special lunch that Grandma Linda provides.
Everyone was excited to see Lynn Griffin from Child’s Evangelism Fellowship back to share the gospel with everyone (including the adults).
The “Word Up” for the day was “God is faithful”.
The scripture that the kids were challenged to put on to the “tablet of their hearts” was Philippians 4:19.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”
Her interactive teaching includes songs, mission stories and personal applications into the everyday lives of the kids. Lot’s of fun and always the invitation for all of these young people and adults to open their hearts to receive Jesus Christ and make a renewed commitment to love. To serve Him by sharing the good news with others while helping meet their needs.
She is always faithful to leave the kids with some crafts and information that can help guide them through their days ahead.
We will be back together on the 4th Saturday, July 25th, from 10am-1pm.

USA – Harvest Kids prep day, July 10, 2020

The will to win is worthless if you do not have the will to prepare.” — Thane Yost
It is always an adventure when we have the privilege to bring the girls from Granite Falls to Sedro Woolley to get ready for the Harvest Kids fellowship on Saturday morning.
We were blessed to take them to Cheryl’s home to check on the Garden of Eden farming ministry and the kids were able to help Grandma Linda pick cherries while Grandpa George and Cheryl moved the ”burn pile” that was in the middle of the field to make room for the volleyball net that will be put up for the families and kids that come to visit the next day.
Somehow the girls discovered some nail polish that Cheryl had in her shop.
Because of Cheryl’s generosity the girls were now “equipped” to start a little business of their own.
After painting their own nails in the evening, they took the initiative to continue the “business” after Harvest Kids the following day.
They convinced Grandpa, Grandma and Dale they also needed a “makeover”.
Lots of fun.

Two great evenings of fellowship with Clara playing the keyboard
and teaching Rocket how to pray.

The kids prepared French toast and pink and purple pancakes for breakfast.
