A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

USA – The knees of Gypsy Smith’s trousers – September 22, 2020

Gypsy Smith says that when he was converted, he immediately became anxious for the conversion of his uncle. The gypsy boy just prayed without speaking to the uncle. One day the uncle said, “Rodney, how is it that you have worn the knees of your pants so much faster than the rest of them?” The boy replied, pointing to the holes in the knees of the trousers, “Uncle, I have worn them out praying for you, that God would make you a Christian.” Nothing more was said, but the uncle yielded to the Savior.

Prayer changes things, yes, everything.

USA – The marvelous works of a tract – September 19, 2020

Dr. C. E. Cornell says:

“A woman dropped a tract or a little book in the way of Richard Baxter. He picked it up and read it and was thus led to Christ.

He wrote a book entitled, ‘A Call to the Unconverted,’ which brought many persons to the Savior, among whom was Philip Doddridge.

This man in turn wrote ‘The Rise and Progress of Religion,’ which led among others the great Wilberforce to God.

Wilberforce wrote ‘A Practical View of Christianity,’ which was the means of the salvation of multitudes; among them was Leigh Richmond.

This man wrote the book entitled ‘The Dairyman’s Daughter’ which has been instrumental in the salvation of many thousands.

Of this incident Dr. Jowett says,
“What a small thing the dropping of that tract was, but what a wonderful many-branched tree has sprung from it.”

Africa – Who is it that overcomes the world? – September 19, 2020

“Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”

1 John 5:5

“I tell you the truth, whoever hears My Word and believes Him who has sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

John 5:24

Many thanks for the prayers and support of those that are helping our co-laborers in central Africa share the gospel with all the local church families and the communities in their areas. These are a few of the testimonies we have received this week.

“Today I was on my way from discipleship and follow up mission when I met a demon-possessed young lady with her eight-month-old baby and her husband. They were coming back from the garden and the lady was suddenly attacked by demons, When I came on the scene I prayed for her and she was delivered. Both her and the husband confessed Christ right there on the way. We hurry the glory back to our dear Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastor Titus (Coordinator for southeast Uganda).

“This mama needs our prayer. She accepted Jesus Christ in her life at the age of 75. She was hospitalized, thanks to the Lord, she’s home today. We gave her a solar-powered audio bible from our co-laborers in the USA so she can listen to God’s Word. This audio bible will allow her to listen to the word of God at home even if she’s sick. I come praying for her, I have faith that God will touch her.

Pastor Augustine (Coordinator for western DRCongo)

“The concept of progress that should be uppermost is the growth and multiplication of the Word of God. 6 people came to Christ due to our mid-week and Sunday morning glory preaching. 8 people were brought to Christ by the discipleship network and home cells fellowship program.”

Pastor Christopher (Coordinator for northwest Uganda)

“Children ministry is going well in Cibitoke Province.”

El Salvador – Advancing the kingdom – September 19, 2020

It has been a challenging time for Pastor Sergio, his wife, Gloria and their family during El Salvador’s response to the pandemic. The age restriction made it impossible for Sergio to be out of his home for months, but he and his family continued to faithfully advance the gospel as forcefully as they could during this last season. Now travel is possible and Pr. Sergio with his son, Josue, who live in San Salvador, were able to visit the families in San Miguel in eastern El Salvador for the first time since February. What an encouragement that he brings, fulfilling his promise to them to stand with them and share the Word of God to help them become true disciples.

    The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s Word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.”

2 Timothy 2:8-10
