A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

USA – Harvest Kids – November 28, 2020

Many thanks to Linda for making lunch and for Shelly, Armando, Amber and Wayne for bringing and encouraging these young people at Harvest Kids. They are currently filling the “bullet” to raise money for a primary school for vulnerable children in central Uganda. After they poured in another 7”, they only need 6” and they will be able to count what they have gotten so far and we can send it to Africa. We hoping the kids may get some more donations, besides their coins to get the $3,000 needed. Muslim parents have agreed to send their children to this school when it is completed and many have already converted to the Christian faith. After our birthday celebration, Deziray drew a picture to show everyone her thoughts about “friends” and everyone added more understanding by contributing words – sharing, kindness, caring, honest, loyal, joyful, focused on the good and most importantly – family. We listened to the song, “Friends are friends forever” and prayed that we could all shine the light of Jesus everywhere He leads us. We finished our fellowship with everyone using the playdough, 6v batteries, alligator clips and led lights to light up their own space.

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in unity!”

Psalm 133:1

Africa – Let the little children come to Me – November 15, 2020

We just received this testimony from Pr. Titus who is the Harvest Vision coordinator in Namaingo in eastern Uganda.

We praise the Lord who gave us the grace to share the gospel in Kifuyo boarding primary school. We ministered to 140 candidates and 8 teachers. 80 candidates and 2 teachers received Christ with gladness.

Pastor TitusNamaingo Uganda

Jesus said,
“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.”

Matthew 11:12

“Then I heard a voice in heaven say: ‘Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows his time is short.”

Rev 12:10-12

USA – Harvest Kids – November 14, 2020

Many thanks to brother Gary who dropped off Noah and Sara for Harvest Kids just in time to help bagging the cans that have been crushed. Thanks to the many who drop off aluminum cans throughout the week.

The money received from the cans pays the teachers for a primary school for the Wambuti pygmy tribe in the DRCongo and help orphans in Uganda.

A real blessing today as our sister, Dana, brought two of her children, Graeson (9) and Ester (3 ½), to join us for the first time at Harvest Kids. To help Dana and the kids better understand how Harvest Kids started 8 years ago we showed the video of the Madilyn House project.

Madilyn (4) and Hailey (2), with the support of their mother, found out about some orphan girls sleeping on the floor of their school in Africa and made a decision to build them their own home. And that’s how it started.

About this time, Wayne, who is a fisheries biologist and is the liaison for the Africa ministry “Joyfully” made his entrance. The kids are working on donating their change to build their fifth primary school in Africa and the kids were able to put their change into a large 90mm military shell casing they are trying to fill on their way to raising the $1,000 needed to build the toilet for the school.

We shared a wonderful lunch that Grandma Linda had prepared, Noah and Sara helped Dana, Graeson and Ester put their handprints on the wall and put their birthdays on the worldwide birthday board.

We shared about how Jesus made a way for us to be able to help people just the way He did when He was living on the earth, why we celebrate Thanksgiving and talked about the many different ways in which God is using these young people to bring the hope of Jesus to others.

Wayne was able to share about Fellowship Ministries that he started a few years ago to take kids (and others) fishing, crabbing and enjoy the outdoors. He also shared about his work to help preserve salmon habitat and some of the ways in which the Harvest Kids have been able to help. It is wonderful to create a safe environment for these young people to share their feelings and ideas and find their own way to participate and share their gifts.

The Harvest Kids meet the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. You can find out more information of the website, www.harvestvisionministries.org or call 360-421-8811 or 360-421-8812.

USA – Pray for the Lord to being workers – November 13, 2020

The Lord gave our sister, who owns the property, and us a vision to prepare a place for God’s people in west Mt. Vernon. The Holy Spirit led us to call it the “Garden of Eden” and we are blessed to have captured it’s beginning on a video available on the website www.harvestvisionministries.org. We are dedicated and devoted to fulfill the vision. Jesus told His disciples that the harvest was plentiful, but there were few workers so He asked them to pray to the Lord of the harvest to bring workers. We are continually praying for workers. Much of the physical work that we’ve been doing has been limited, on my part, because of surgery I have on my left hand a month and half ago and it is just now healing. We are trying to complete a shelter roof before I have my right hand worked on next Tuesday. It was a cold, windy and off and on wet day today. What a blessing to receive a text from our brother, Ed, who asked if I was there working today. I texted him that I was there. He showed up a short time later with his 4 ½ year old nephew, Sully. What a worker and it was great fun watching Ed encourage and teach him as they blessed us with this walkway this morning.
