A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

USA – Everything, Everyone, Everyday – April 15, 2020

Great phone conversation with Wayne and Pastor Martin in Africa. Lot’s of prayers as we are looking forward too helping our co-laborers in central Africa share the love of Jesus in their communities. Thanks to Cheryl and everyone helping prepare the fields for planting crops that will build up the Body of Christ and help spread the gospel to all the nations. Thanks to everyone that is helping with the “Bird on a branch” neighborhood ministry that is bringing a message of hope during these seemingly uncertain times. The home-made cookies are just a bonus. Simply: “A bird on a branch is never afraid the branch will break, because it knows that God gave it wings.”

“Those that hope in the Lord, will renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Africa – Easter baptisms in Burundi – April 12, 2020

HE IS RISEN!
We are thankful today that even though the darkness of this world is not hidden from any of us, we can focus on what is praiseworthy and excellent. Thankful first and foremost for the love of the Father lavishly poured out for all mankind on the Cross and the promised eternal life that has been given to each of us that choose to accept the Truth. We are thankful that, for those of us in the USA, we have been given freedom in a nation that has given us great blessings and through them we can support our co-laborers around the world that are bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to nations that are not blessed like those of us that God has planted us in this field – for such a time as this. It was with heartfelt joy that we received this morning the testimonies from Evariste, the coordinator that we prayerfully and support in Burundi in Africa. On Easter, they visited 3 different communities in Bujumbura and baptized in Kinama 5 believers; in Gatumba 10 believers and in Gihanga 10 believers.

Jesus doesn’t care as much about what we give, as what we keep to ourselves.

Jesus came and gave us a “Preview of Coming Attractions”:

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is My Son, Whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16-17)

And then….

“Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into Your Hands I commit My Spirit.’ When He had said this, He breathed His last.” (Luke 23:46)

“When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene…Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country…Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating…He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever do not believe will be condemned….After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and He sat at the right Hand of God.” (Mark 16:9-20

Africa – Let us go over to the other side! – April 11, 2020

“That day when evening came, He said to His disciples, ‘Let us go over to the other side.” (Mark 4:1)

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18)

In the first instance, the disciples lost focus of WHO told them they WOULD go to the other side. There was never a doubt in the mind of Jesus they would end up on the other side of the lake.

The same Jesus, with the same authority, told us to go make disciples.

We are thankful that our co-laborers in central Africa understand and walk under His authority.

Even as the quarantine was being put in affect in central Africa, they completed 13 outreaches and conferences the first of March and witnessed 529 accept Jesus and are now sharing the good news with others even as they observe the conditions of the quarantine in their respective countries. The limited person to person witnessing, is drawing more people in family units to faith in Christ, and social media, including the ongoing radio broadcasts, are reaching still others. When Jesus commands us to go and make disciples, He has the authority to make sure that even the gates of hell can’t stop the mission.
