A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

USA – Curlew mission with Olivia & Yvann, August 28, 2021

We were thankful to have Olivia and Yvann, who together with Olivia’s husband, Miguel, coordinate the ministry in Mexico, join us on our monthly mission to bring food and clothing to support the ministry in northeastern Washington.

It is a long day trip, but the weather was great and the scenery driving over the mountains shouts out to the creation that God has given to us.

John and Lena, who coordinate Harvest Vision Curlew Fellowship, greeted us along with the chickens, cats, dogs and deer and shared their vision to build a ministry home on their property. After unloading, we drove to the location of the farm that the ministry will  have oversight for and where John and Lena will be living.

While Lena gave Olivia a tour, John and Yvann began the process of catching two piglets that will be taken back to the petting zoo at the Garden of Eden family ministry in Mt. Vernon.

The ministry impacts the entire community around Curlew and Republic, and along with Jarett and Brianna, who coordinate the Harvest Vision Blue Creek ministry in the Chewelah and Colville communities, are bringing the body together to reach those that are “broken hearted and crushed in spirit”. We are praying about future mission trips that would bring people from western Washington and Mexico to support the ministries and get discipleship training from our co-laborers in these communities.

Mexico – George & Noe in San Luis, August 20, 2021

We were blessed to have a wonderful time of fellowship with Pr. Ariel & Mercedes and his church family on Thursday night. Yesterday we rested then visited with the church family of Bethesda who we have been blessed to partner in ministry with for 18 years. Pr. Mario went to be with the Lord the first of the year and we were encouraged that his children are leading worship and preaching the Word to stand for Jesus, their calling and vision. We have been prayerfully led to help Miguel and Olivia expand the ministry by revising the sewing room to include a printing business that will provide a more secure funding base for the ministry here. It also allows more believers to be involved. We will be able to tap into the wisdom that God has given to our brothers and sisters in El Salvador that also use a family-based printing business to meet the needs of the public as well as believers and provide a sustained income to support their family and ministry. We are working on an estimate, probably $2,000+ and we pray that the Body of Christ will prayerfully and financially support the vision. We also visited a property purchased by Luis and Norma that help with the ministry in a new area at the outskirts of the community. We will be purchasing a canopy that they will take out a few times a month to start a church family. Eventually, they will build their home there. We are also prayerfully hoping to raise the money needed (~$2,000) to put a metal roof on a home that was donated to be used as a meeting place for the new church family that Pr. Sergio has started in Ciudad Arce outside of San Salvador in El Salvador. We are blessed in the USA to have believers that can financially help spread the gospel to the nations, even as we face the reality of changes in our own country. Any amount, no matter how small, changes in value when it is placed in the Master’s Hands. We have no “paid” positions in Harvest Vision Ministries – in fact it is the other way around. Thanks for your prayers and participation and partnership in the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ in whatever way you are called.

USA – Harvest Kids with Olivia & Yvann, August 28, 2021

After a rare two days of light rain, we were blessed to have a beautiful sunny day for Harvest Kids. The garage, produce and corn sale were all opened and people were coming when we started our morning activities. We only had a few bags of aluminum cans that hadn’t been crushed and the kids make quick work of them. The whole morning was filled with numerous visitors for the sale and some to say hi to the Harvest Kids and Olivia and Yvann who are visiting with us from Mexico. They have been both been involved in the Harvest Kids when it was active in San Luis. We shared a quick testimony of how Harvest Kids got started and were reminded that it was just over 8 years ago that Madilyn and Hailey (now 13 & 11) made their one and only trip (so far) to Africa that God used to start Harvest Kids. They had their Change the World coin donations that they counted ($153) and when added to the garage sale and produce/corn sale money they had the last $5,575 they needed to finish the Harvest Doves primary school in Kayunga, Uganda. The total costs was $21,975 USD. What is impossible for man is possible for God. “And a little child will lead them.” The school started the first of June with 80 students, 35 from neighboring Muslim families. We are praying for an increased harvest of souls in the entire community. The kids saw a photo of the children eating a simple meal in the village where Madilyn’s House was built. A bowl and no utensils. Mama Linda then served all of us with a similar meal: rice, mango, banana, pineapple and no utensils. After the meal, we wished all the Harvest Kids around the world that were born in August a Happy Birthday, being mindful that many of the children in Africa and in other parts of the world don’t know when they were born because there are no records. Olivia shared the story in the Bible about the young boy that offered his simple meal to Jesus, after Jesus had commanded the disciples to feed the 5,000 men that had gathered to hear Him speak. They had already told Jesus they couldn’t get the food to do that, but after the boy put His tiny lunch in the hand’s of the Master, there was more than enough. A real encouragement to these young disciples. Afterwards, Wayne took Olivia and Yvann fishing and George took the kids to pick corn and then home to Granite Falls.
