A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

USA – Smokey Pt. Rest Area outreach ministry, December 27-30, 2019

Many thanks to everyone that donated cookies and helped share the love of Jesus with people at the Smokey Pt. Rest Area on Interstate 5 over this holiday weekend. We received almost $250 that will be used to build God’s Kingdom locally, in Mexico, El Salvador, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, the DRCongo and Australia. It is amazing what this simple act of unselfishness does to encourage so many people that share their gratitude with those of us that choose to serve. We surely want everyone that prays, provides cookies and allows their family to come and participate to share in this special joy.

“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”

(2 Corinthians 9:12-13)

Africa – November outreaches, Dec 19, 2019

“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means ‘God with us’. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” (Mt 1:23, 21)

If Jesus wrote a letter to Santa, what would He ask for?

If Jesus sang the song, “All I want for Christmas”, what would He ask for?

Actually we already have been given that answer.

Jesus said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost”. (Luke 19:10)

We are thankful for our co-laborers in central Africa, that spent the month of November coordinating 26 outreaches and witnessed the Holy Spirit prompt the hearts of 1,968 new believers to respond to Jesus. Jesus said, “Here I AM. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them and they will eat with Me.” (Rev 3:20)

Many thanks to our co-laborers that pray and help financially support these native missionaries.

We are praying that others will join with us as we continue to support these brothers and sisters and even more so as we have coordinators in the east and west Uganda, eastern DRCongo, southern South Sudan and Ethipoia, El Salvador and Australia that are needing sound and video equipment to better reach those in their respective regions. They work with Christian pastor’s and leaders to bring the gospel message to those that are broken-hearted and crushed in spirit in their respective communities. That is six sets of equipment that costs about $3,600 each by the time we are able to put them all together. If God has blessed you, it isn’t to raise your “standard of living” as much as it is to raise your “standard of giving”. Please prayerfully consider increasing your partnership in the kingdom ministry of our Lord, Jesus Christ who “came to seek and save what was lost”.

If you would like to make a donation, they can be made on line at www.myegiving/hvm or the “electronic giving” on the home page of the www.harvestvisionministries.org website or through PayPal to harvestvision21@msn.com. If you would like to donate electronically but do not have access to the internet or would like someone to assist you, please call George Henson at 360-421-8811 or Kylee Walker at 360-540-0890. To maximize your gift, on donations directly out of a checking or savings account a fee of $.25 is withheld, while credit and debit cards the fee is $.25 + 2.7%. You can also mail donations to Harvest Vision Ministries, PO Box 733, Sedro Woolley, WA, 98284. All donations are tax-deductible and help advance the gospel of Jesus Christ and build His Kingdom.

USA – Trouble in this world December 27, 2019

We were blessed to have the Harvest Kids and adults at the Riverstone Climbing Gym in the morning and roller skating in the evening in Burlington. Lot’s of teaching opportunities throughout the day. The training at the climbing gym focuses on the safe and proper use of your equipment and includes understanding the importance of communication with the person that will be your “belay” – the person responsible to hold the rope for your ascent and descent on the wall.

“Belay” – The securing of a person or a safety rope to an anchor point (as during mountain climbing); to make fast; to fasten down.

Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

“God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

USA – Amazing return on investment, Dec 7, 2019

Many thanks to everyone who prays and supports Harvest Vision Ministries as we make every effort to prepare and equip our co-laborers that are in the harvest fields, locally and around the world, to reach the lost with the uncompromised Word of God. Here, in our little home and office in Sedro Woolley, Washington, no person receives any monetary compensation for the sacrifices they make. Through the first part of December of this year, we have received donations of $115,000 that supports the ministry locally and other ministry in NW Washington, Canada, Mexico and 7 countries in central Africa. This pays for homeless, children’s and other ministry locally, mission home and outreach in Mexico and supports coordinators and maintains sound & equipment for outreaches in Africa, as well as money for health and education needs in Africa. We have paid a little over 2% for admin costs which is mainly the costs of the services for our on-line donations. So far, just the outreaches using the equipment in Africa have witnessed over 35,000 people accept Jesus this year and are now being discipled in local church families to reach even others. We are still waiting testimonies for the rest of the outreaches in November and for December. It is a blessing to know God is using a $25/mo donation to reach over 7 people for each of those months. May God continue to get the glory for those that He is bringing to salvation.

We have 6 coordinators in central Africa, El Salvador and Australia that are working to reach the lost in their areas and can reach even more if they have additional equipment. Please consider whether you would like to help them give the gift that truly keeps on giving.

If you would like to make a donation, they can be made on line at www.myegiving/hvm or the “electronic giving” on the home page of the www.harvestvisionministries.org website or through PayPal to harvestvision21@msn.com or send to Harvest Vision Ministries, PO Box 733, Sedro Woolley, WA, 98284.

USA – All I want for Christmas is?, Dec 3, 2019

What a wonderful time of year when people begin to think about giving and helping others. Over 2,000 years ago, we were given a gift. A baby named Jesus. The gift was not unwrapped until He died on the Cross for the forgiveness of the sin of all mankind and we were given the opportunity to receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus spent His whole life on earth with an eternal perspective. This was not His home and it isn’t really ours when we accept Jesus and His promise. How much of our giving today has an eternal perspective? Jesus said, “Rejoice with Me; I have found My lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” We just received testimonies from 3 coordinators in Uganda, Burundi and the DRCongo. They coordinated 12 outreaches in November, 785 sheep came to the Shepherd and 150 have been baptized. What rejoicing! We have 6 coordinators in central Africa, El Salvador and Australia that are working to reach the lost in their areas and can reach even more if they have additional equipment. Please consider whether you would like to help them give the gift that truly keeps on giving.

USA – Four Corners Navajo Indian Reservation, Nov 20-26, 2019

Many thanks to John Seaman for joining George on this journey back to the Four Corners Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico and Arizona. The long 20 hour ride brought us to the homestead of our sister, Cecilia, and her son, Chris. Cecilia has had a vision to build a prayer house on this land for many years. We were blessed to be greeted with a mission team from the Native American Bible Ministries in Broken Bow, Oklahoma who had already started some work on the project, including building an outhouse. It was a great time of fellowship and the prayer house is being modified to include a home for Cecilia. We were blessed by spending special time with Cecilia and listen to her share about her journey of faith. We were also able to stop and visit John’s family in Apache Junction, Arizona on our drive down to Mexico. John was able to meet Miguel, Olivia and Yvann who coordinate the ministry in Mexico and we were able to visit the Centro de Suenos church family for a Tuesday night service. John was able to share his passion and love for music with the church family by playing one of his favorite worship songs. Olivia joined with us for the 29 hour snowy drive back to Washington where she will be visiting with us until December 9th. Many thanks to everyone that prays and supports Harvest Vision Ministries.

USA – El Salvador

Many thanks to our brother, Noe Lara, who has been moved by the Holy Spirit to reach out to the lost in his native land of El Salvador. We are pleased to partner and co-labor with him as he over-sees the expanding of God’s kingdom in the land of his birth. He recently went on a mission there and reunited with Pastor Sergio Lopez, the man and pastor who had ministered to him when he was a teenager living there. Noe spent time with him and recognized the anointing that God has given to him to reach the lost and plant church families to disciple new believers. Noe was led to start a ministry partnership with Sergio and with the support of Harvest Vision Ministries will be providing the equipment needed to further the ministry. We are asking you to join with us in prayer and financial support for the expanding of God’s kingdom in this nation. For Sergio as he coordinates the ministry in El Salvador and for Noe as he serves as the liaison for us as his co-laborers in the harvest fields of El Salvador.

USA – Harvest Home Fellowship, Nov 29, 2019

What a wonderful day of Thanksgiving at the Harvest Home as we began work to prepare for the Christmas parade that will be next Saturday, Dec 7th, at 4pm in Sedro Woolley. Olivia, the co-director of Harvest Vision in Mexico, and Veronica began designing and sewing costumes and Linda ordered some items that will be used to present the story of Jesus from birth to death to resurrection. John Seaman, who founded Kellilynn’s Spiritual Recovery Center, in Curlew, WA joined with us as well as other friends. We will be gathering for prayer at the Harvest Home every morning from 9-10am starting Monday, Dec 2, through Dec 7, the day of the parade. “Lord Jesus, we pray that You will prepare the hearts of Your people that will gather in our community for the Sedro Woolley Christmas parade. We ask You to forgive us for putting more emphasis on our worldly blessings and not giving You the honor that You deserve. In Jesus Name, Amen.”

USA – “If you see a brother in need, Nov 12, 2019

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and truth.” 1 John 3:16-18

What a privilege to be in partnership with brothers and sisters in Christ in central Africa that willingly sacrifice, along with their families, every day to reach the lost in these remote communities. Our co-laborer, Charles, who works with different church families to coordinate outreaches in central Uganda, just sent a testimony of an outreach last week in a small community called Wanteete. Fifty adults accepted Jesus and twenty-five came for the discipleship class and were baptized last Sunday. We have four more coordinators from regions in Uganda, the Kenya/South Sudan border and the DRCongo that are waiting to get the sound and video equipment needed to expand their outreaches into the communities in their regions. They not only help with evangelism, but teaching pastors and leaders, strengthening existing church families and helping plant new ones to disciple new believers. It costs us about $3,600 to get the equipment, including generator, that is needed and we provide $150/month to help with transportation costs. Somehow, reading the scripture above we often limit the word “need” to something that simply meets a personal need and not a need that allows a person to unselfishly sacrifice themselves for God’s greater purpose. We petition each of you to prayerfully consider helping these brothers and sisters with their “need”.

USA – Harvest Kids with Child’s Evangelism Fellowship, Nov 9, 2019

What a blessed day in the Harvest Home with these amazing young people. Most of the cans that had been donated had already been crushed so we started the morning counting the change that had been donated to support the Harvest Kids next project helping orphaned and vulnerable children in central Africa. They counted and rolled up $132.34. Pr. Martin in Africa is currently praying about where the greatest need is and will let us know soon. We talked about Veteran’s Day and honored that by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and then continued the discussion focusing on the price that Jesus paid for our redemption and how much more we should be grateful for His sacrifice that has given us eternal life.

Lynn, from CEF, shared a wonderful message about thanksgiving using Psalms 92:1
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord. To sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.”
Amazing inter-active ministry, including helping these young people to know all the books of the Bible. Always an amazing simple message about a sovereign God that is in control of everything; omniscient, knowing everything; omni-present, being everywhere and omnipotent, being all powerful and choosing to come and live in us. Afterwards, the kids decorated paper bags and loaded them with dried apple chips, hazelnuts and candy, some from their trick or treat treasure, to be given to the homeless in our community. They finished the afternoon learning to make balloon animals and preparing bags of hazelnuts that will be used to get donations to support the over-all ministry.

USA – Harvest Kids planting trees

Many thanks to Wayne and Cathy for taking these young people to Riverfront Park in Sedro Woolley, WA to help plant trees along the banks of the Skagit River. We have been blessed to join with the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group at different times during the last couple of years to help them in their environmental projects to plant trees along different water ways to prevent erosion here in our community.

“Then God said, ‘Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.’ And it was so. And God saw that it was good.”

(Gen 1:11-13) These young people are being taught to be good stewards of God’s gifts to us as His children and they are making a difference in our community. Pouring our lives into these young people is a great investment for our future and for the kingdom of God. They are “like trees planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” (Psalm 1:3)
