A Word from Pastor (Papa) George

Africa – Archer’s Post, Samburu, Kenya – March 14, 2020

We finally took off from Kampala, Uganda to Samburu in the northern part of Kenya. We were blessed to have Pr. Simon, our north Kenya coordinator, travel with us. After we got through immigration at the Kenya border we were met by Pr. Titus, our east Uganda coordinator, who had traveled home from the conference to get his wife and child so he could bring them to meet us. We traveled to Nakuru and spent the night and arrived in Samburu in northern Kenya the next afternoon. Great sharing about the future needs of the ministry as we pray, share the love of Jesus and expand His Kingdom. Along the way we saw baboons, gazelles, rhinos and shared the road with a herd of camels. We were greeted by Rose, Simon’s wife and children then enjoyed a wonderful meal she had prepared for us. This was Wayne’s first time to visit the family and the home in Kenya so he had bought both Rose and the kids some ‘sweet’ gifts. Tomorrow we will be visiting a local church then visiting a tribe out in the bush that live in clusters of minatas, small round mud and stick homes, that are clustered together for protection.

Africa A visit to Mukono, March 13, 2020

Many years ago we made our first visit to Llagwe community in Mukono, Uganda where Pr. Jonathan lives. We were invited to host an outdoor crusade and Pr. Martin and I spent the night on the floor at his home in the jungle that he shared with his children and other orphans. The primary school that he had founded was a few miles away and provided primary education in the community and there were many other orphans that lived at the school. We witnessed his love for this community. We remember the roof going on the school building, the water tanks, teacher’s housing, toilets and Madilyn’s House with beds, mattresses and mosquito nets for the children. Today, through the help of Step 30 and Love Benti from Taiwan, we see a well, classrooms and community projects. Each child receiving the good news from their Father, who through the love of Jesus,  says to them:
“This is My child, whom I love and am very proud of.”

Africa water filters & audio bibles  – March 12, 2020

We were blessed to hear many testimonies from our coordinators scattered throughout Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi and the DrCongo. Over these last few years, The King’s Storehouse Ministry out of Ferndale, WA has supplied water filters and solar-powered audio bibles. We distributed 100 water filters, each purifying 1,000,000 gallons of water, and 240 bibles in 14 different languages. There were so many testimonies of how God is using these to bring good, clean water to quench the physical and spiritual thirst of those that are broken hearted and crushed in spirit.
“On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” (Acts 8:1, 4)

Mexico, El Salvador & Honduras – Bringing it all together – February 17- Mar 6, 2020

“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.” (Psalms 133:1)
Miguel and Olivia, the Harvest Vision Ministries Mexico coordinators, traveled to south Mx to spend a few days visiting and encouraging Obed and Sury, the HVM coordinators that live in Michoacan. They were able to enjoy the family and listen to Obed and Sury as they shared their vision of the future work that they will be involved with as they continue to get direction from the Holy Spirit for their home and the communities in their sphere of influence. Later, Miguel and Olivia joined with George and Noe who had traveled to El Salvador to visit families and anoint Pr. Sergio and Gloria who will be serving as coordinators to that country. They were able to meet and pray for families around Noe’s father’s home where they will be encouraging believers to begin house church fellowships in their community.

Later we traveled to San Salvador, the home of Pr. Sergio and his family, and were blessed to witness the incredible love they have for one another and the desire they have to use everything given to them to reach others with the gospel. We visited their church fellowship that meets at the city park and shared amongst ourselves about the vision of bringing the body of Christ together through relationships that God has given us. We have many friends and family of people that are from south Mexico and central America that are now “scattered” in Skagit Valley in Washington state and in San Luis along the border of the USA.

What an incredible time of fellowship we had with Ana Munguia, her family and the rest of the Nueve Horizonte Assembly of God church family in Ilopango, San Salvador. Thanks to our friends, Juan Carlos and Mauricio and their families that live in our community in the United States for making this possible and inviting us into their family here in El Salvador. Jesus said, “What God puts together, let no man separate.” This is the New Testament church that’s is given the promise: “And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. AND the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47)
    Everything, everyone, every day!

What a wonderful reunion as Noe took us to visit his family in San Marcelina, Lapaz. A beautiful home and family. We enjoyed breaking bread with them, visiting the ocean, which is just a short walk away, and joining them for an evening service with their local church family. The presence of God was in their hearts and home and we are confident that the Lord will be using their home to expand the kingdom work in this community.

We are excited about the vision and were blessed with Noe spending an additional week to visit his wife, Nancy’s family in Honduras before traveling back to the USA.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the arm.” (Isaiah 60:1-4)
