Armando Lopez
Jail Ministry
Aug 26, 2010 --

Last Thursday, August 19th, Armando Lopez was arrested on a warrant from 2006. He spent a total of 5 days in jail. During his time in jail several people accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into their hearts. He spent a couple days in Bellingham, where Armando's entire pod got saved. Armando prayed for healing on a man who's whole face was swollen from an abscessed tooth. Within minutes the man was healed and there were several witnesses who began praising God at the very sight of the miracle. Armando left that jail with the nick-name of "Pastor" and with everybody on their faces crying and praising the name of Jesus. George received a phone call from somebody who was bailed out of jail the day that Armando was moved to snohomish county in tears saying he had never witnessed the presence of God like he did in that jail and that when he left it wasn't even like it was jail and that everyone was praying for one another and encouraging each other and that he wants to get married to his girlfriend who he lives with. Armando had given him George's phone number not knowing when he would be out of jail and to call George if he ever needed anything or wanted to keep in contact. He told George that he needs to keep doing what he's doing and everybody needs to hear and be part of what we do. After tracking down where Armando was and when he would have a hearing, George wrote a letter to give the judge. His hearing was on August 24th, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Bellevue. George and Linda had to catch a plane to Alaska at 1:00 PM and were not able to make the hearing, so Dina Wilkins went to support Armando and deliver the letter to the judge about Armando's changed behavior in the past 3 years. At the hearing Armando was encouraged to have support and an attorney! He was released but is required to show up for a court date in September. He was taken back to the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle and finally released at 6:00 PM. Dina was there to pick him up and take him home to his children. He reported that 24 people were saved total, 5 of which were in King County. He praised God for opening up the future opportunity to do ministry in King County, which he has been praying for. The Whatcom County jail misplaced Armando's cell phone so he now has a new phone and new number: (360)391-9610.

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body." 2 Corinthians 4:7-11
