As always it is great to see the kids get up and start preparing for Harvest Kids, especially when they can make such yummee pancakes to start the day. Our new friends, Brad & Jennifer, entertained the kids with a cup game which really challenged the kids in competition with each other and then switched to teach them the value of working together to accomplish a pyramid. The kids and adult helpers crushed cans, checked out the strawberries, radishes, carrots & second growth of peas in the HK garden and then put in 5” of changes that had been donated into their collection “bullet”. Only 7” to go and they will have it filled for the 9th time and it will be added to the $2,080.50 they have collected so far to help vulnerable children in Africa. We added some new birthdays to the board and new handprints to the trees before having lunch and celebrating August birthdays. Christie from Child’s Evangelism Fellowship shared a message and challenged the kids (and adults) with the real meaning of Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Many thanks to everyone that prays, donates cans and helps the Holy Spirit as He teaches us to be like Jesus who came “not to be served, but to serve.” Everyone is welcome - the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 9467 Pierce Lane, Sedro Woolley, from 10am-12:30pm (next September 10th).
