We are so thankful to be in contact with our co-laborers in Africa. Please pray for the people of South Sudan during this time of war in Juba. Many people are being beaten, raped and killed. Pr John Light contacted our director just a short time ago and is trying to get his wife, 3 remaining children (their 3 year old daughter was taken to be with the Lord as they hid in the desert) and the 2 orphans and try to seek refuge in Uganda. Hopefully, Martin will meet them and help them to get their refugee status. Also John is very sick and needs treatment for problems in his chest. Pr Isaac, our DRCongo coordinator, that is living as a refugee in Uganda is suffering badly from back and neck problems. No feeling in his arms and legs and after a MRI has been told that the only way to eliminate the pain is to have surgery. The only option now is a trip to India for surgery and rehabilitation that is estimated at $40,000 USD. The Christian community in the DRCongo has sacrificed many of their personal things and so far have raised $13,600 and we join them in prayer for the remaining. Also, continue to join us in prayer for miraculous healing that would eliminate the need for any other intervention.
Our co-laborers in Africa are very grateful for the funding of the projects that we recently sent support for and are working to put those projects into service to build His Kingdom. We are now working on replacing the broken sound equipment that Kennedy uses to support outreaches in Central Uganda ($1,500); the copier that is used to print the curriculum for bible schools in E. Uganda (Martin will be sending us an estimate); replacing the generators in N. Uganda and the eastern DRCongo ($850/each); and will be purchasing a portable sound system & mics in the USA ($1,350) that will be taken to Africa the end of September. We are also working on helping Pr Billy come to visit Washington and California in mid-September.
