USA – Harvest Kids with CEF, Martin, Olivia & Sandy, Nov 12, 2016

What a great day with the Harvest Kids. The kids got to play one of the games (jenga), that the adults and kids made at the recent Harvest Kids project day. Pretty competitive, but the boys finally wrapped up a victory when the stack toppled. Even though it was a windy and a little rainy, the kids bravely smashed about half the cans and then ended up putting their change into the bullet and brought it up another 12”. The money they raised last time will be used to help pay for the bags of medical and school supplies that everyone is helping collect to send to Africa when Pr. Martin returns home the end of November. The kids are collecting anti-bacterial ointment, bandaids, children’s Tylenol, alcohol pads, scissors, rulers, pencils & sharpners for vulnerable children in Africa. They are also helping collect gloves, hats and socks for Mexico and the homeless in our community. Items can be dropped off at the Harvest Home, 9467 Pierce Lane, Sedro Woolley, Tue-Fri, 10am-4pm or at HKids the 2nd & 4th Saturdays from 10am-12:30pm. Africa items need to be collected by Nov 25th and Mx items before the team leaves for Mexico on Dec 21st. We were blessed to have Christie Wolff share about Thanksgiving. Her lessons are very inter-active and involve singing, memorizing scripture, playing games and sharing with one another. The kids ended up making thank you cards for loved ones and then were given bags of hazelnuts for their families. The hazelnuts were donated by Fred & Denelle DeVries. It was a really special day, because it is the first time we have had Pr. Martin, from Africa, and Olivia & Sandy, from Mexico with us at the same time. A double blessing because Fred brought his son, Robby, and Robby brought one of his goats.
