“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:1-3
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25
Thanks to the Manantial de Agua Viva (Fountain of Living Water) church family that invited Pr. Martin, from Africa, and Olivia, from Mexico, and other friends to share at their fellowship this morning. An awesome anointing as the Holy Spirit spoke of each one’s commitment to listen and obey what God has called each one to do so the body of Christ could be fully mature and able to bring hope and truth to those in our community here in Skagit Valley and to wherever God leads us. We were blessed as we moved from Burlington to visit our precious sisters in Christ in Anacortes - Mo, Mary Lou and mom. These women have such a passion and desire to share the love of Jesus with everyone in their sphere of influence, regardless of the reality that they face trials just like all of us. Jesus said, “In this world you will have troubles, but I have overcome the world.” What a wonderful promise that we have been given! We finished the evening breaking bread with many of the wonderful servants that God is using through Harvest Vision Ministries to bring the light to those in our community, Mexico, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan and the eastern DRCongo. Bread broken and wine poured out. After a sharing a meal together, we encouraged one another as one family and finished the evening with communion to celebrate the death and resurrected life we now have in Jesus Christ. The evening was filled with the sharing of miracles that abound in and around God’s family, the Church.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness of danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35, 37-39
