Obed Garcia Pineda & Suri – Michoacan, Mexico Sub-coordinator

In October, 2017, Miguel & Olivia accompanied Pr. Jaime & David from Mision Jireh in San Luis, Sonora, to visit with Pr. Obed, his family and other local pastors in Michoacan. Pastor Obed lives in Apatzingan with his wife, Suri, and daughters, Genesis and Sinai. He pastors a church family that meets in their home and works construction. Apatzingan has a population of 100,000 and the city is strongly influenced by the drug trade with much alcoholism, drug addiction, prostitution and the other problems that have left many with little or no hope. Prior to becoming a pastor, Obed was a worship leader. His desire is to reach the lost and he works with other local pastors to minister in their community. Obed is strongly supportive of starting a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. A sound and video system are being made available to Obed who will be responsible to coordinate its use for the Christian leaders in the community in spreading the gospel. Obed will also be working with local leaders to help with pastor’s and leader’s training, start new church families and strengthen existing church families and teach new believers to become true disciples. Miguel and OIivia will help over-see this work along with Pr. Jaime from Mision Jireh.
