This ministry began in August, 2000, when 25 people from Bethel Assembly of God Church in Sedro Woolley, Washington went to San Luis, Mexico and put on a Vacation Bible School, youth rally, and provided a worship services for a week. George and Linda Henson began to coordinate other mission activities through Bethel Assembly of God, to San Luis and included other churches in the Skagit Valley area. Many people from many different churches have been involved in the outreach since that time and many others have been involved in fund-raisers, contributing items, prayer, and attending events in support of this ministry.
Until June 2002, all of these activities, including financial activities, were coordinated through Bethel Assembly of God and the various churches that have been involved. At that time, Harvest Vision Ministries was incorporated as a 501-C-3 federal tax exempt organization. Starting in 2003, George and Linda were joined by Chris and Heather Sanderson in full-time work in this ministry. George is licensed and ordained and Chris and Linda are licensed through Christian Life Outreach Ministries in Mt. Vernon, Washington.
In November 2005, the first trip to Africa established a ministry outreach in Kampala, Uganda to Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania.
