Martin and Beatrice Ochieng - Director, Uganda Coordinator and Treasurer

Pastor Martin Ochieng was born in Kenya April 9, 1972. Although, both of his grandparents were witchdoctors, his father was Christian and he was raised attending church. In 1984, the family moved to Nakuru Town, where he became very sick, suffering from what appeared to be a combination of T.B and asthma. His parents tried all they could and failed. The doctors did not understand the sickness, so he was released from the hospital to go home to die. One evening two preachers came to the house and found him lying on the cement floor gasping for breath and almost lifeless. After they prayed, he fell into a deep sleep, and when he awoke he was completely healed and he promised he would serve God in the future.

The next year, 1985, he had a vision about the second coming of Jesus and he started reading the bible to know more and found that all he had seen in the vision was written in the scriptures. Two years later, 1987, he had two more visions of the second coming of Christ and in the last one when he came out of the vision, a voice told him that he must give his life to Jesus.  He went to the church, confessed and gave his life to Jesus.

In December, 1989, while attending high school, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in supernatural tongues. He joined with other born again students in the Christian Union, preached the gospel to fellow students and teachers and a revival broke-out and many students and teachers came to Christ. The Young Catholic and Muslim Clubs in the school were both shut down and he became the Christian Union Chairman.

After high school in 1992, he began working and serving God, then in 1994, he stopped working to help plant a church in Nakuru Town, Kenya in which he served as Assistant Pastor. While serving in the church, he attended Bible school in Nairobi and graduated in August 1997. After graduation, he planted a second church in Nakuru, although.during a 5-day prayer and fasting in Bible school, the Lord spoke to him that he was chosen to go to the nations and raise the standard of believers by preaching and teaching God’s Word. After pastoring the second church for one year, God spoke to him to prepare to leave the church to someone else and go to Uganda as a missionary.

In 1999, he brought his briefcase and went to Uganda. Martin has served as Associate Pastor and missions coordinator at the Kibuli Miracle of Faith Church in Kampala until December 2009, when he left to devote himself fully to Harvest Vision Ministries. Since the year 2000, he has done missions in Rwanda, D.R Congo, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Sudan, Egypt, Mozambique and England.

In 2000, Martin married Beatrice, a native of Uganda and they have been blessed with three beautiful children, Peace who was born in 2002, Audrey in 2004 and Isaac in 2008.  Beatrice works at the Parliament and is involved in the Christian Fellowship that meets there.

Martin became involved with Harvest Vision Ministries through the internet in 2004. In February, 2005, Martin and Beatrice invited George and Linda to Africa and they visited Uganda and Kenya in November 2005. Since that time, an office has been established in the home, a webpage has been developed, coordinators have been established in the different countries and sound and video equipment have been acquired to support outreaches. Ministry outreach has included Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is expanding to other countries as the Lord directs.  Martin is working as the Director of Harvest Vision Ministries in Africa and the Country Director for Harvest Vision Africa (U) Ltd, our Uganda NGO. Beatrice serves as Treasurer for Harvest Vision Africa (U). The ministry primarily works to bring unity by working with all Christian denominations to help coordinate evangelism, teaching and church planting. The ministry also helps coordinate evangelism and teaching crusades and seminars that are supported by larger ministries from the USA and other non-African countries. Starting in 2009, Harvest Vision Ministries has a church fellowship department for church families being over-seen by the ministry and an education department for the Royal Hope Academy (school) and other schools that might be covered by the  ministry. The ministry supports sustainability projects that help the coordinators and pastors have a financial support base without putting the entire burden on the church families.

David Grove - USA Liason in Africa

David Grove was born in Seattle, Washington August 15, 1987 and raised in Oak Harbor, Washington.  John 3:3 say, ‘in order to enter into the kingdom of heaven, you must be born again.’  He was born again at the age of 17.  At the age of 20 he went to Peru in South America as a missionary and saw a lot of corruption within the body of Christ and ministry there leaving him discouraged about the bride of Christ, and her mission.  A year later Christ gave him a dream with an African woman and her child, and they said, ‘come here, we have need of you.’  Along with other dreams, and some confirmations the continent of Africa began to burn in his heart.  At the age of 22, March 2010 Jesus visited him in his room, and told him “I am with you.’  From that moment on David knew with a renewed passion that nothing could stop Jesus from properly preparing his bride, and reaching out to those who don’t know him.  After a divine appointment where God united Harvest vision with David, it was decided he would go and support the ministry there. David moved to Uganda in October 2010.

Michael Collins - Assistant Director and Missions Support Assistant

Michael Collins was born January 29th, 1981 and was born again in 1990 in Sunday school. At that age, he was so excited about what he had received that he went and shared it with his parents. His mother asked him what he had done in order to be saved because they always believed that for one to be saved you must be a wrong person or one who has committed atrocities like murder, etc. After seven years of Michael praying for his mother, she gave her life to Christ and she is now a pastor.
Michael is a member of the Miracle of Faith Church – Kibuli in Kampala and has been providing technical support for the sound and video equipment that Harvest Vision uses to support outreaches, crusades and seminars throughout Uganda. Michael has also helped train technical support in Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi. Michael graduated from New Creation Bible College in Nakuru, Kenya in December, 2007 and now serves as Assistant Director of Harvest Vision Africa (U) Ltd., our Uganda NGO.

The desire to preach the gospel and go to different communities has always been in him.  No matter the challenges that have come his way, he is completely sold out to doing the will of his Father. His heart for reaching the lost and his understanding of God’s Word make him a valuable part of the ministry team in Central Africa.

Joseph Ayienga - Rwanda Co-Coordinator

Joseph Ayienga was born in Kenya in 1976. His parents were Christians and his grandmother pastored a church in Kenya for a remarkable 85 years from 1915 to 2000. Even though his family was Christian, Joseph was not born again until 1999. After receiving salvation, Joseph attended New Creation Bible Training Center in Nakuru, Kenya for 3 months. Joseph met Martin Ochieng while attending New Creation and graduated in 1999. After graduating, Joseph did missionary work with the Masai people, then moved to Malaba, Kenya where he was involved in church planting and evangelism until returning to New Creation for 3 more months in 2001. Joseph met Anne, from Malaba, and they were married in 2001 and are parents of Melody, born in 2003, and Grace, born in 2005 and Elisabeth, born in 2007. After working at farming for 9 months, Joseph returned to New Creation and cleaned toilets for 6 months before accepting a position to teach. Joseph continued to be involved in evangelism and missionary work while teaching at New Creation and in 2004, visited Rwanda with Martin.
The Lord called Joseph to leave Kenya and do missionary work in Rwanda and he moved his family to Kigali, the capital city, in December 2005 and he began to work with Harvest Vision Ministries. During the first months in Kigali, Joseph was blessed to have worked with the Remera Miracle Center where he built relationships with many Christians in the city. One of the burdens that Joseph had was to minister to the street prostitutes. Many of these are young mothers that were HIV infected when they were young and now have HIV infected children. With little or no education or support, they “live on the streets”. Joseph, with the help of other ministry partners, has started the Treasure Center Church in Kigali. Over 100 mothers and their children have received salvation and are being helped with basic needs, including the start of a program that will provide them a business or profession. Unfortunately, Joseph and Anne separated but Joseph continues to work with Marcos to help coordinate relationships with different Christian church familes and ministries in Rwanda and other parts of Central Africa.

Eluid & Judy Abijah - Kenya Coordinator

Pastor Eliud Abijah was born in Funyula, Kenya in 1967. He was attending Gilgin College to study building and plumbing when he accepted Jesus as his Savior in 1989. After school, he immediately involved himself in full-time ministry doing evangelism and crusades with the Miracle Center in Busia, Kenya. He began to plant churches starting with the Funyula Miracle Center in 1994, Teso Miracle Center in 1995, Nambale Assemblies of Christ in 1996 and Sega Miracle Center in 1997. In 1999, he began working with the Miracle Center head office in Maseno until 2000, when he moved to help start the Zion Prayer Center in Nambale. Eliud began to work with the Kenyan Assemblies of God in Busia in 2001, where he met Deborah, who had been active in establishing the presence of the Kenyan Assembly of God in Busia town. Eliud was widowed with a son, Johnston, and Deborah was widowed with two sons, Enoch and Nathan, and one daughter, Cheryl and they were married in 2003 after Deborah had established and became pastor of the Kenyan Assemblies of God Church in Siteko, a small village away from Busia. Pr. Abijah has used his apostolic giftings, planting churches and has established discipleship relationships with men and women of God throughout western Kenya. Pr. Martin and Abijah became acquainted in 2001 and was introduced to Harvest Vision Ministries during a missions outreach in November, 2005. Pastor Deborah went to be with the Lord in October 2009. After Deborah’s passing, Abijah continued to pastor the church in Siteko until a permanent pastor was found. During the years in Siteko and even while leading crusades and outreaches throughout western Kenya, Siteko was blessed with a church leadership that put Jesus’ love for the community above even their own church building or other needs. The effort to care for the younger children in the village resulted in a government sponsored school through primary 4 and with a healthy ECD (Early Childhood Development) school. Another ECD outreach has started in Busia through the work in Siteko. The volleyball and soccer youth ministry brought unsaved and saved youth together from four different villages in the area and many of these have been born again. In December, 2010, Abijah moved with the 3 children, Nathan, Jael and Sharon, to Kisumu, a large city, that is more strategically positioned to coordinate the ministry, plant a church fellowship and care for the family. Since then, God has been opening doors.  He married a lovely woman from Busia, town Kenya and they are looking for nursing employement in Kisumu.  Meanwhile she is commuting 6 hours one way every weekend and co-pastoring a church in Kisumu with Abijah in a church that warmly welcomed them after having no Pastor for 2 years.  Even yet, God has been opening more and more doors to preach the gospel! Abijah married Judy from Busia, Kenya in the spring of 2011.
